GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The position is for female between the ages of 25 and 40 to work as chef / hostess / stewardess at our up-market lodge and on our yacht.  Danforth Yachting is based at Cape Maclear on the shores of Lake Malawi, Malawi, Central Africa. The ideal candidate should have the following qualities;

•       Should be a qualified chef ,
•       should be friendly and enjoy meeting new people,
•       should be slim, trim, fit and healthy,
•       should enjoy sports and the outdoors,
•       should be hard working and clean living. No drugs.  Alcohol in moderation..

DUTIES AT LODGE

•       Menu planning
•       Meal preparation.
•       Supervise Malawian chefs and kitchen helpers.
(We prepare three full meals per day, plus teas, coffee, cakes and snacks.  Maximum capacity of lodge 16 pax.)
•       Presentation of meals
•       Food garnishes
•       Oversee table settings, layout, flowers etc.
•       Food and drinks inventory and stock control.
•       Compile shopping lists
•       Check guests rooms.

ON YACHT
•       Assist with sailing duties on the yacht.  Previous experience an advantage, but not necessary - full sailing training will be given.
•       Assist with housekeeping on yacht.
•       Prepare and serve meals, snacks, teas and coffees on yacht.
•       Interact with guests.  Chat.  Play games.  Be involved in activities.
•       Offer and serve drinks, snacks and meals.
•       (Maximum capacity on yacht is 10, including crew.)

The position is a live in position, with meals and accommodation provided.
"Take home" pay R7,000.00.
